Claims and Complaints
Rest assured that our professionals will do their utmost to ensure easy and smooth relocation. In the event of damaged goods, missing items, or if you have a service complaint, please contact our Customer Service Department at:
Mail: 327 Walnut Avenue, Bronx NY, 10454
E-mail: firstname.lastname@example.org – we recommend using e-mail when possible, as we find it to be the most efficient.
Although you have 9 months to fill out a claim, the earlier it is done, the sooner we can review it and resolve it. Your best proof of a claim is to make a notation on the Bill of Lading, Inventory or delivery receipt at the time of delivery. However, you can still file a claim if you notice something wrong after the delivery. Ben Hur will do the utmost to resolve your claim quickly and fairly. We are committed to resolve claims within 60 days from the day in which we received the information.
If you are dissatisfied with our handling and/or resolution of your claim, Ben Hur offers Arbitration Program through the American Moving and Storage Association (AMSA).
To maintain a fair and neutral position, this program is administered by the National Arbitration Forum. The Forum is a completely independent, non-governmental organization that is not affiliated with either, the American Moving and Storage Association or with any household goods moving company. The Forum currently charges a fee of $500 to arbitrate most cases. Disputes over $10,000 are subject to an additional fee based on the amount in dispute. As the party instituting the case, you will be asked to pay $250, or half the cost of the proceeding. Since many cases are settled before arbitration, you will not have to pay the fee when you first contact the Forum.
A form can be obtained at the time of your move or also at the American moving and Storage Association website – www.moving.org – or by phone 703-683-7410. The form should be submitted to American moving and Storage Association, Attention: Dispute Settlement Program, 1611 Duke Street, Alexandria, VA 22314-3482 or can be faxed to them at 703-683-7524.
