Some people love to pack by themselves to keep record of their belongings. There are a few things to know before getting to work
First, get boxes. Avoid using fragile, grocery or other boxes that can crush easily. Use a sturdy box that withstands the rigors of traveling. Try and get small or medium sized boxes for packing as they are easy to lift and load in the truck.
Second, determine where to start and what to pack last. It is suggested to first pack the things which you need the least and then move to the most important things to be packed, which generally include kitchen stuff, clothes and school or college text-books.
Third, buy some packing paper and bubble wrap to provide a safety layer for the fragile items like sculptures, plates, frames, wall hangings, etc.
Four, follow room to room approach rather than mixing up everything together. There should be different boxes for bathroom, bedroom, living room and kitchen. For easy unpacking, label the boxes.
Five, pack all the items which you will require once you reach the destination, separately and place them near the rear of your truck.
Six, try and get rid of all the things that you don’t want to take to your new place by selling it off or donating it.
These are the best DIY (Do-It-Yourself) moving tips that you need to keep in mind whenever you are moving. Happy Packing!
