7. Pack for your move ahead of time

Moving is time consuming and can be emotional. The more you can pack ahead of time, the less you will need to do on the actual moving day. Pack “seasonally. If you are moving in the winter, first pack your summer items into boxes then you can unpack these last. Keep one television and one radio available; pack the others up in advance of your move. Use a “travel kit” for the last week or so and pack up all those bathroom items you do not use on a daily basis, remember to color code each box you pack so that the moving company knows which room to put each moving box when it arrived to your new residence. Same holds true for pots, pans and utensils, you do not need much and hey, why not take the move as an opportunity to explore a few new places you always wanted to try for dinner before you move. You do not need more than one trashcan or wastebasket; they also make great places to put your odd sized moving items into.
